LMKwhen.com ("LMKwhen," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Updraft Labs LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our weather alerting service, including our website, web application, and notification delivery services (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and any other information you provide during account creation. We use Clerk for identity management; their privacy practices apply to authentication data.
Location data. The core function of the Service requires you to provide geographic locations you wish to monitor (addresses, coordinates, or drawn polygons). This location data is stored in our database and used solely to perform weather alert matching.
Contact and notification information. To deliver alerts, we collect phone numbers (for SMS), email addresses, and Slack webhook URLs you configure. Phone numbers are transmitted to Twilio for SMS delivery. Email addresses are used with Amazon Web Services Simple Email Service (SES).
Payment information. Billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store payment card numbers on our systems. We retain Stripe customer IDs and subscription status to manage your account tier.
Usage data. We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for security monitoring and service improvement.
Email capture. If you submit your email address on our coming soon page or waitlist form, we store that address to send you product updates. You may unsubscribe at any time.
If you provide a mobile phone number and configure an SMS notification channel, we will send you weather alert text messages to that number. Message frequency varies based on weather activity in your monitored areas.
To stop receiving SMS messages, reply STOP to any message. To resume, reply START. For help, reply HELP. Message and data rates may apply. You can also disable SMS in your account notification settings at any time.
We do not share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Your phone number is transmitted to Twilio solely for the purpose of delivering alert messages on our behalf.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
We retain your account and location data for as long as your account is active. Alert event history is retained for a minimum of 12 months to support insurance documentation and compliance use cases. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or audit purposes.
Email addresses collected via the waitlist form are retained until you unsubscribe.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage for sensitive credentials (AWS Secrets Manager), and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data including the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@lmkwhen.com. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are a resident of California, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
We use essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may affect your ability to use the Service.
The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated effective date and, for significant changes, by sending an email to your registered address. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
